I’m approaching the finish line of my Ph.D. (expected Summer 2026!), where I’ve combined wet-lab molecular biology, large-scale sequencing, and machine learning to uncover biological patterns that can’t be seen any other way.

Right now, my major focus is finalizing the MetaViralyst ecosystem; an end-to-end virome analysis pipeline and interactive Explorer web app. This is the evolution of the SOVAP pipeline I was previously working on, and I’m incredibly excited to launch it for the community soon.

I also recently published our novel wet-lab extraction protocol, SS-VIME, which allows for the simultaneous extraction of DNA, dsRNA, and RNA from complex soil matrices. You can find the step-by-step methodology on protocols.io.
